Mais pourquoi la pédagogie et la technologie, qui s’allient, se mêlent et se renouvellent chaque jour jusqu’à devenir plurielles, seraient-elles présentées séparément, cloisonnées dans le débat ? PédagoTICE 2013 sera donc le premier colloque régional à privilégier un mode de communication pluri-parties. Le colloque PédagoTICE 2013 aura lieu le 13 juin 2013, à l’Université Toulouse 2 – le Mirail. Il se déroulera sur une journée, dans l’Amphithéâtre 12 et aux alentours. Il est organisé conjointement par Le Service interUniversitaire de Pédagogie (SiUP) de l’Université de Toulouse, et la Direction des Technologies de l’Information et Communication pour l’Enseignement (DTICE) de l’Université Toulouse 2. Tous les établissements membres fondateurs du PRES de Toulouse sont représentés au sein du Comité de Programme, et contribuent ainsi activement à faire vivre cet événement régional. Le concept PégagoTICE A l’occasion du colloque PédagoTICE 2013, interrogeons-nous sur ce fait étrange: comment se fait-il que la pédagogie et la technologie, qui s’allient, se mêlent et se renouvellent tous les jours jusqu’à devenir plurielles, sont si souvent présentées séparément, cloisonnées dans le débat? En effet, les manifestations relatives aux technologies pour l’enseignement foisonnent, et celles concernant la pédagogie usant le numérique émergent… chacune de leur côté. Open source ou solution propriétaire, le choix n’est pas simple. D’un côté l’illusion du gratuit, de l’autre l’impression de payer toujours trop cher des outils largement diffusés. Pour Emmanuel Clémot, responsable Europe du sud et Afrique pour <a href="http://www.blackboard.com/" target="_blank">Blackboard</a>, spécialiste américain de solutions numérique pour l’éducation, tout est affaire de stratégie et de vision « TICE ». Ce dont semble manquer nos universités et même nos grandes écoles qui ont, semble-t-il, oublié l’utilisateur final, à savoir l’étudiant. Comme développeur de solutions d’apprentissage numérique – très implantées aux Etats-Unis – quel est votre regard sur la situation de l’équipement en France et des TICE? En France, nous n’avons pas véritablement de stratégie numérique. Les récentes annonces du gouvernement témoignent à cet égard de leurs interrogations qui expliquent l’ampleur du retard pris, aussi bien dans les universités que dans les grandes écoles. Doté d’un enseignement traditionnel avec une bonne réputation, notre pays semble s’être reposé  sur ses lauriers. Et comme les établissements n’ont  pas de stratégie et encore moins de budgets, ils  optent pour des solutions open source. Je pense qu’il s’agit souvent de choix par défaut, sans raisonnement à long terme. Le projet FUN (France Universités Numériques) n’a d’ailleurs aucun budget précis. Cetis have published a new briefing paper on <a href="http://publications.cetis.ac.uk/2013/808">Activity Data and Paradata</a>. The paper presents a concise overview of a range of approaches and specifications for recording and exchanging data generated by the interactions of users with resources. Such data is a form of Activity Data, which can be defined as “the record of any user action that can be logged on a computer”. Meaning can be derived from Activity Data by querying it to reveal patterns and context, this is often referred to as Analytics. Activity Data can be shared as an Activity Stream, a list of recent activities performed by an individual. Activity Streams are often specific to a particular platform or application, e.g. facebook, however initiatives such as OpenSocial, ActivityStreams and Tin Can API have produced specifications and APIs to share Activity Data across platforms and applications. The morning session (11am-1pm) will be a workshop focusing on the development of ‘informed researchers’ and digital literacies, while the second half (2-4pm) will offer theoretical insights into academic literacies and popular digital literacy practices. Lunch will be provided between 1-2pm. Facilitating Informed Research in the Digital world Moira Bent (Newcastle University) and Jane Secker (LSE) on behalf of the RIDLs Coalition Interacting with information is at the very heart of the research process and easy digital access to material sometimes masks the complexity of the processes involved in ensuring quality. Additionally, not all researchers are at the same stage in their development as a researcher, in the research process itself, or in their lives. This can impact on how information literate or digitally literate they may be – are they new researchers, or experienced researchers who need to develop new approaches, for example. The project involves small institutional teams meeting for two half-day workshops. The first event will explore forms of online engagement before teams conduct similar sessions with a small number of students within their own institutions. Introducing iPads and other tablets into the classroom definitely ignited a revolutionary tech movement in higher education, but e-books and interactive lesson plans are only the beginning. Experts predict a second revolutionary tech wave will occur within the next decade that will flip old methods of teaching and learning on its head. Although MOOCs are offered through several elite institutions, three platforms currently dominate university-level coursework: Coursera, Udacity, and edX. Students can not earn a degree from these free courses but that still doesn’t discourage thousands of students from enrolling in MOOCs worldwide. What makes MOOCs so attractive is that they shift the control to the student. Students can take courses at their own leisure and pace. MOOCs have really improved access of higher education to people around the world, but they still have their fair share of critics. Some worry it will give officials a reason to unnecessarily slash school budgets. * Game-Based Learning Experts say game-based learning can improve a student’s assessment, especially for those who aren’t “natural scholars.” Although the New Media Consortium doesn’t predict widespread adoption of game-based learning until a few more years it’s already starting to make its mark. Take the University of Texas-Brownsville and Texas Southmost College in the U.S. for example. In the 2010-11 academic school year Professor Soumya Mohany gathered inspiration from the videogames Laura Croft: Tomb Raider and Little Big Planet to design a custom-made videogame used to teach the fundamentals of physics for the inaugural course, "Elementary Physics Through Video Games. * Learning Analytics In a nutshell, learning analytics refers to the “analysis” of data collected by and for students. It’s specifically gathered so that administration can improve the overall functionality and performance of both traditional and online courses. There are various times when this data is collected, for example after a student completes an exam or participates in a group project, class discussion, or online forum. This data is then used to identify issues and make way for progress. I could understand their eagerness, but I hesitated. I don't normally send my slides too far in advance of a presentation for three reasons - firstly I don't think it's a good use of resources to produce paper based slides and secondly, it's not good pedagogical practice because looking down at a paper rendition of slides you are about to see can be distracting for delegates when they should be engaging with the front-of-house presentation. Well, as of the release of schema draft version 1.0a a couple of weeks ago, the LRMI properties are in the official schema.org ontology. Schema.org represents two things: 1, an <a href="http://schema.org/docs/full.html" target="_blank">ontology</a> for describing resources on the web, with a hierarchical set of resource types each with defined properties that relate to their characteristics and relationships with other things in the schema hierarchy; and 2, a syntax for embedding these into HTML pages–well, two syntaxes, <a href="http://schema.org/docs/gs.html" target="_blank">microdata</a> and <a href="http://schema.org/docs/datamodel.html" target="_blank">RDFa lite</a>.
