The workshop will be run by SOAS Enterprise Office and the London Middle
East Institute (LMEI).
The workshops combine - uniquely - input both from academics focussing on
Islam and its role in societies and also from 'practitioners' - people who
are or have been involved with Islamist groups in different parts of the
world and who are able to comment on the issues from a personal perspective.
We are confident that this combination of academic objectivity and 'real
stories' from inside the movements will give workshop participants excellent
insights into the ways in which political Islam is affecting world politics.
